Barley Town House is available to hire for your event. Check availability or request a booking using the Hallmaster booking tool.  Tick the room you require at the very top of the page, then scroll through to the date you would like. The building is on two floors. The ground floor or Undercroft has two rooms, the main room which is licenced for wedding ceremonies and a smaller side room ,attached to which is a small well fitted kitchen . Also downstairs off the main entrance area and hall are the main washrooms.  Upstairs on the first floor is the main room, which spans the entire building and off this room is a larger well furbished kitchen. Tables and chairs are available for use free of charge though some wedding organisers like to hire-in their own. In addition there is a sound system enabling music or speeches to be heard on either floor or both simultaneously and parking is available at the rear.

80-100 can be seated for a meal depending on table type

Kitchen includes: large electric cooker, fridge/freezer, stainless steel double sink units and preparation area and moveable stainless steel island. 

 Urns are available in both kitchens. 

Tables and chairs are available for use free of charge. Some wedding organisers like to hire-in their own tables and chairs. The hirer must arrange their own delivery and collection. 

Free WIFI and projector screen.

Parking is available at the rear of the building. 


The Town House is ideal for a wedding reception or the ceremony itself.  With the Undercroft licensed for civil ceremonies, accommodating up to 70 seated guests, you can have the reception afterwards and dance the night away upstairs without expecting your guests to travel.  The beautiful 16th century building is ideal for the wedding of your choice.   You choose the caterers, flowers, photographer, we provide an attractive and romantic setting.  For help with your wedding needs ask the Lettings Officer for suggestions of local businesses who are tried and tested and know the Town House. For evening bookings which have a disco or live music and which are due to finish later than 11.00pm there will be an extra charge of £100 to cover caretaking costs.

On confirmation of booking a deposit is required which will be refundable only after the event-see Letting Conditions.
